Maintenance Manager Location: Rotherham
To assist in the management of, and continually develop the Engineering department whilst ensuring all health and safety and environmental standard are met. To work closely with all operational team to improve site efficiency, people development, maximize equipment availability and improve safety.

Ensure a professional service on a day to day, in accordance with Grupo Bimbo standards and procedures. Ensure completion of all work within strict time and cost budgets, including completing all appropriate reports and documentation. Monitoring maintenance activities, routines and procedures for accuracy, effectiveness and completion. Drive line performance to meet targets ensuring equipment availability and reliability.

To coordinate the tasks of the bakery's 24/7 shift engineering team, providing clear leadership whilst ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a world class standard. Ensure a detailed root cause analysis (RCA) of the event is completed to prevent reoccurrence. Actively manage across departments to ensure the delivery of all maintenance plans.

A "hands on" role working with the team. The role requires flexibility with working hours, supporting both significant breakdowns and the bakery's weekly plant shutdowns.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  1. Health & Safety: To proactively manage to ensure that a safe working environment exists for all associates in the bakery and that as a minimum the operation meets the standards set out in the company Health and Safety policy. A member of the site's safety committee.
  2. To ensure the engineering team react quickly and safely to plant breakdowns to minimise the period of plant downtime and maximise output.
  3. To apply a Root Cause Analysis methodology following each significant downtime event or to know plant issues to establish the root cause and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. This will involve working with the wider GB engineering network and OEMs to identify proven solutions.
  4. To work with Reliability lead to ensure all learnings from plant engineering issues are incorporated into the bakery's maintenance system (Maximo) to prevent reoccurrence.
  5. To ensure the maintenance system (Maximo) is used for all downtime and shift reporting and ensure team compliance with the receipt and issue of engineering stocks.
  6. To ensure the team's assigned preventative maintenance tasks are completed on time and recorded in Maximo.
  7. Responsible for the continual development of the bakery's engineering continuous improvement (CI) and RCA processes, working closely with the wider plant engineering and bakery team to ensure the system is regularly updated.
  8. To ensure maintenance activities are aligned to and follow the principles of the GB Maintenance standards.
  9. To provide weekly management reports on progress with completing the maintenance activities (e.g. Downtime (IPFM), Downtime by asset etc.).
  10. Ensure that the operation of the machinery meets the requirements of safety, quality, capacity at all times and minimizes waste.
  11. Maintain in optimal condition the fixed assets of the company such as machinery, production equipment, and plant facilities & services through the efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
  12. Ensure compliance to the bakery's environmental management systems, in the areas of ​​Maintenance.
  13. To provide support to the wider Maintenance team with tasks e.g. External Contractor management, projects, CI activities etc.
  14. To execute CI projects, initiatives that increase efficiency and productivity in the plant operation.
  15. To attend daily site management and shift management meetings to ensure all actions following a downtime event are accurately captured and corrective actions communicated.
  16. Work with the wider site engineering team to construct, manage and deliver the annual Maintenance budget and Capital program.

Shift Engineering Team

  1. Responsible for the continual development of the bakery's shift engineering team through the active management of and development of team talent, through effective 1:1's, performance reviews and associate training and development programs.
  2. Performance management: To appropriately manage the performance of all team members using GB talent performance systems (i.e. appraisals) and, if necessary, to impose disciplinary sanctions in accordance with Company policy through to dismissal stage.
  3. Training and development: To own the training and development of the team. Actively coaching, developing and training team members to the required level of competence to encourage continuous improvement within the business, promoting talent retention.
  4. To lead the recruitment and selection process for direct reports

Person Specification

  1. An experienced engineer (Qualified engineer with formal certificate) with a strong electrical & PLC bias and good mechanical knowledge (incl. hydraulics & pneumatics).
  2. Proven experience of leading a team of shift engineers.

Hygiene Associate Location: Welwyn
This is a full-time position working 5 x 8 hour shifts on a shift pattern of days, nights and weekend working.

You will need to be dependable, flexible, quality driven, conscientious, and a passionate associate.
Good standard of verbal and written English required to meet site safety rules.
Previous experience within a Bakery environment would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be given, the position should also be viewed as a long-term opportunity.

This is a full time position working 8 hours Monday to Friday Day shift positions available. This will be rotational shift pattern, Week 1 6am till 2pm and week 2 2pm till 10pm

Previous experience within a Bakery environment would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given to successful applicants. There is also an opportunity for individuals to develop and up skill into various senior positions at site.

    Reporting to the Area Line Leader, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the production and packing of quality GBUK products in line with customer and company requirements.
